CEMI Robot Dance Party

Last Saturday, I had a chance to attend my first ever CEMI organized "Robot Dance Party" at Artisan's Asylum.

Essentially it was a birthday party, followed by robot dance demos, and then a party with beer, dancing and festive lighting. Here's some of the interesting stuff I captured while there.

LED lit Robot Arm

I wasn't sure why there was light pipe stuck to the robot arm, but it did look cool.

Hacked Humanoid Robo :-]

There weren't many robots around when I got to the party, but this hacked sapien looked cool.

LED hanging plant?

There was some kind of wall hanging LED plant at the event as well.

Robotic/Synthetic flower

There was a really neat "synthetic flower" that a group created out of fiber optics, light pipe, LED strips, a controller, and (I think) an IR proximity sensor.

I've got a video of the plant in motion over on facebook.
